Prescott Lakes Golf Club
One of the newer places to play in the Prescott area is two-year-old Prescott Lakes, a 1,200-acre, master-planned community surrounding an 18-hole course that covers 150 acres all by itself. There are lakes, natural washes and wild grasslands here; views from the course take in the Granite Dells, Mingus Mountain and Thumb Butte - major local landmarks.
PGA legend Hale Irwin designed this par-72 private course that allows limited public play.
"I think this could be one of the top courses in Northern Arizona where the public is allowed to play," says Mike Brechler, assistant golf professional at the course. |

Stone Ridge Golf Course
Nestled in the heart of Northern Arizona, Stone Ridge Golf Course offers players scenic views and more than 350 feet of dramatic elevation changes from lowest green to highest tee.
At 5,200-feet elevation, the 7,052-yard, par-72 daily-fee golf club is carved in the stone ridges and boulder outcroppings of Prescott Valley and is landscaped with ponderosa and pinon pine, scrub oak, native grasses and wild flowers and highlighted with granite rock formations and deep desert washes. |

Antelope Hills Golf Course
Antelope Hills Golf Courses is an upscale, Championship 36 hole municipal facility, complete with a natural grass driving range. Opened in 1992, the South Course is a links style course designed by Gary Panks.
It is fairly wide-open, has generous mounding along the fairways and around the large undulating greens and presents a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and granite rock formations.
Opened in 1956, the North Course is a traditional layout designed by Lawrence Hughes. The North Course offers tight fairways lined with 50-foot elm trees and small, fast greens. Both courses have bluegrass fairways and roughs with bentgrass greens. Grass is dormant from approximately December 1 through April 1. |
